The white corundum is a kind of top-grade refractory material with α-Al2O3 as principal crystal phase and white color. High bulk density, low apparent porosity, stable volume and high thermal shock resistance are its features. It is applicable for large steel castings, especially for the facing sand and coatings of molds and cores of alloy castings, and the shells of precision casting. Additionally, it can be used as the semi-finishing and finishing grinding material for quenched steel and alloy steel.
